Kirura Factory is located in Kiambu County, in Kenya's Central Highlands, at elevations between 1.800 and 1.950 meters above sea level.

Established in 1988 and operating under the Komothai Farmers Cooperative Society, it works with around 800 smallholder farmers cultivating SL28, SL34 and Ruiru 11 varieties on mineral rich volcanic soils.

The coffee is fully washed using clean water sourced from the nearby Gatamaiyu River. After careful hand sorting of ripe cherries, the coffee undergoes overnight fermentation, washing, density separation and slow drying on raised beds.

The high altitude and cool climate allow for slower cherry maturation, contributing to a clean and layered cup profile, with notes of red currant, pink grapefruit, pomegranate and black tea.
